Competitive Fees & What to Expect - 2026/2027 Season

Registration Fees

For the 2026/2027 season, registration fees have increased by 5% to reflect rising ice rental costs. In previous seasons, the Association did not always increase fees when ice costs increased.

The Association has also eliminated the Fundraising Raffle program moving forward. A Volunteer Levy program has been introduced and is outlined below.

Payment Schedule

Registration fees will be divided into three payments:

  • 50% due upon registration (by June 1st)
  • Second payment due July 1st
  • Final payment due September 1st

Players with outstanding balances after September 1st will be ineligible to participate until fees are paid in full.

Please see the Refund Policy HERE.

Practices & Games

All competitive teams will receive:

  • A minimum of 2 practices per week
  • Scheduled home games whenever possible on weekends
  • Entry into the Hawks Home Tournament

Practice Lengths

  • U15A & U18 Divisions: 80-minute practices
  • All other Divisions: 50-minute practices

Additional ice time may be provided depending on the ice allocated to the Association.

Development programming information for the 2026/2027 season will be shared once finalized by the Association.

Registration Fees Include

Competitive registration fees include:

  • OWHA Insurance
  • OWHA Provincial Bond
  • Practice and Home Game Ice
  • Officials and Timekeepers
  • Practice Jersey
  • Game Socks
  • Two (2) pre-season home exhibition games

* Competitive teams advancing to Provincials or Regional Championships will continue to receive 1-2 organization-paid practices per week until those events conclude.

Fees Not Covered by the Association

The Orillia Girls Hockey Association does not cover:

  • Coaching or trainer certification costs
  • Competitive division game jerseys

Volunteer Levy Program

Our organization relies heavily on volunteers to operate successfully. Volunteering strengthens our Hawks community, builds relationships, and creates a shared sense of purpose while setting a positive example for our athletes about service and commitment.

Every coach, team parent, event helper, and board member who volunteers their time helps reduce overhead costs and keeps registration fees as affordable as possible.

Volunteering is also an excellent opportunity for high school students to complete volunteer service hours.

Volunteer Levy Details

Beginning this season, a $100 Volunteer Levy will be added to every player registration.

To receive the levy back:

  • A minimum of four (4) volunteer hours must be completed per registered player
  • Once a volunteer form has been submitted and approved, the player’s account will be credited $100

Team Managers will provide additional information throughout the season and help coordinate volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Tournament Volunteer (September & January)
  • Committee Volunteer (as approved by the Board)
  • Hawks Player Helpers for U7 Practices
