The Orillia Girls Hockey Association (OGHA) is built on the dedication and support of our volunteers. Volunteering strengthens our Hawks community, creates meaningful connections, and promotes a shared sense of purpose within the Association. It also sets a positive example for our athletes by demonstrating the importance of service, teamwork, and commitment to the community.
Every coach, team manager, board member, tournament volunteer, and event helper who donates their time plays an important role in helping the Association operate successfully while keeping registration fees as affordable as possible. Volunteering with OGHA is also an excellent opportunity for high school students to earn community service hours.
Beginning this season, a $100 Volunteer Levy will be added to each player’s registration fee. To receive a refund of the levy, each family must complete four (4) volunteer hours per registered player during the season.
Once volunteer hours have been completed and a volunteer form has been submitted to the Association, a $100 credit will be applied to the player’s account. Team Managers will receive additional information regarding the volunteer initiative and will help coordinate volunteer opportunities for their respective teams.
Volunteer opportunities may include, but are not limited to:
We appreciate the support of all our Hawks families and look forward to continuing to build a strong and successful hockey community together.
