Tryout Refund Policy:
Once tryouts have begun, tryout registration fees paid will be non-refundable.
Tryout Eligibility:
All players wanting to play on one of our 2021/2022 Competitive Teams must register for and participate in the tryout process.
***Health exemptions for those unable to participate will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact [email protected] for more information.
Hockey Canada’s U11 Development Pathway states players at this level will participate in 4 development sessions before the start of the Competitive team tryout process. These sessions will be conducted for all players, both Competitive and House League. Players must participate 4 sessions to be eligible for the tryout process.
Tryout registration is open to ALL players, regardless of what association they were registered with or the level they played at during the 2020/2021 season. Permission to Skate forms are required for any player who was member of another OWHA association or team in 2020/2021 or before.
Transfers / Releases:
Non-OGHA players selected to play for one of our Competitive teams will register with the OGHA. This will initiate the process for obtaining a release from the player’s previous association and transfer their membership to the OGHA. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure all requirements for release from their previous association are met.
Players who have were previously registered with an Ontario Minor Hockey Association team are eligible to register for the tryout process as long as they have never been registered with an OWHA association. Otherwise a Permission to Skate for will be required.
Hockey Canada has ruled that players will no longer be permitted to simultaneously be a member of two hockey branches in the 2021/2022 season. Players who register with an OWHA organization will not be permitted to register or play with an OMHA team, and vice versa. Any player who registers with an OMHA will become ineligible for membership with the OGHA, or any OWHA association.
Player Health & Safety Measures:
The OGHA will fully comply with all restrictions and regulations provided by the Ontario Government, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the City of Orillia, the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association, and Hockey Canada. Health and safety measures may be instituted to ensure the health, safety and overall wellbeing of players, coaches, officials and parents.
