2020/2021 Season Structure & Registration Update - Revised
Submitted By Executive on Monday, August 24, 2020
The Orillia Hawks Executive has been working hard to prepare the upcoming season amid all the changing COVID-19 regulations and protocols. We thank you for your patience! Our season will begin on, or
after, Monday September 14th 2020. We have divided the season
into two halves, September to Christmas break in December and January to
March. The cost of the first half
of the season will be $400. The
cost for the second half will not exceed $325 unless you are a new
registration. If there is a return
to “Competitive” hockey then those playing “Rep” hockey will be charged
more than the $325.
- Players will be grouped together based on their level of play last year (HL or Rep) and by their appropriate level of play for the 2020/2021 season. The OGHA may make adjustments to this based on the need to round out numbers in a particular group.
- The hope is to offer groupings a regular or rotating ice time(s). All ice times will be at Brian Orser Arena for the period of September to December.
- Groupings will receive at least 1 ice time per week and no more than 3 ice times in a two week period.
- All activities will be socially distanced with coaches following the Alternate Skill Instruction guidelines provided by Hockey Canada.
- As the season progresses, we hope to move into 3v3 or 4v4 games.
- The Ontario Hockey Federation has stated during Stage 3 that tryouts for competitive teams will not be permitted.
- All plans for 2020-2021 are contingent on final approval by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, OWHA, and the City of Orillia.
