LLFHL Playoff Update - Four Hawks Teams Move On!!!
Submitted By Executive on Mon 02 12, 18
Four of our Rep teams are moving on to the second round of the Lower Lakes playoffs!
Our Tryon Construction Atom B team defeated the Aurora Panthers with a thrilling 2-1 win in game three. It was all on the line as Orillia and Aurora had skated to a pair of ties in the previous two games with scores of 2-2 and 0-0. The Atom B team will now play the top seeded North Durham Blades in round two.
The Watson's Kaby Lodge Peewee B team also went to game three and came out with the win against the Vaughan Flames. Orillia won the first game at home with a score of 2-0 before dropping the game two to Vaughn by a score of 2-1. The Hawks managed to put away Vaughan with 2-1 overtime win in a back and forth heated affair. The Peewee B Hawks will face Barrie in round 2.
It was a relatively easy round on for the Multicare Group Bantam B team as they shut out the Brampton Canadettes with scores of 6-0 and 2-0. Round 2 will have our Bantam B team take on the Aurora Panthers.
The Boston Pizza Midget BB team punched their ticket to the second round with a 1-0 win over the Caledon Coyotes. Orillia won game one by a score of 4-3 and then dropped game two by a lopsided score of 5-0. The second round opponents for the Midgets will be the North Simcoe Capitals.
Unfortunately our Midget B team came up short against the North Durham Blades. After dropping the first game by a score of 4-1, the Hawks played a fantastic game in the second contest where both teams failed to score. The scoreless tie forced game three and the Hawks again played a great game but came out on the losing end by a score of 2-1.
The LLFHL second round starts this week. Check the schedule and come out and support your Orillia Hawks family!!!
GO HAWKS!!!!
