Gold Medal Winners of the Huntsville Sting Tournament

The Orillia Hawks Senior C Ladies Hockey team won Gold this weekend at the Huntsville Hockey Tournament.  Led by Robin Root, Team Coach & goalie and a fantastic supporting team the Hawks shut out Huntsville with a score of 4-0 in the Championship game.    A solid team effort during round robin advanced the team to the final game.  Goalie Gabby Mondelli started the weekend with a shutout against the West Northumberland team which was a preface of things to come. 

The Gold Game shut out goes to Goalie Robin Root with  goals scored in the final as follows:   (1st) Danielle Jeffreys, assisted by Brittney Bince; (2nd) Amy Duchemin; (3rd) Cora Shilling, assisted by Stephanie Oates; and (4th) Danielle Jeffreys, assisted by Haylee Lawlor.

Round Robin Games:

Game 1 - Orillia Hawks vs West Northhumberland 2-0 win  -   Goal 1: Mikayla Rae;  Goal 2: Laura Kennedy, assisted by Cora Shilling & Stephanie Oates; Game 2 – Orillia Hawks vs Kirkland Lake Blast 3-2 win -         Goal 1:  Mikayla Rae, assisted by Laura Kennedy & Brittney Bince;  Goal 2: Brittney Bince, assisted by Mikayla Rae & Laura Kennedy;  Goal 3:  Haylee Lawlor, assisted by Carly Turner; Game 3 – Orillia Hawks vs Huntsville Honeys 1-5 loss -Goal:  Haylee Lawlor, assisted by Betsy Maus & Amy Duchemin

Giving the Hawks 4 points and ranked 2nd overall to advance to the finals against the first place home team, the Huntsville Honeys. 

A great team effort by all players, Congratulations ladies!
