The Ayers Plumbing and Heating Orillia Hawks
Bantam B girls rep team hit the ice on Saturday, October 3, 2015 for their first game of the season. With lots of shots on net and lots of rebounds, the game was a nail biter!
Our first goal of the game was scored in the first period by Linnea Ayers, with an assist from Carly Davis, and Montanna Slessor. Tied at the end of the 2nd period, and into the 3rd period, when within the last 4.3 seconds of the game, Carly Davis and Montanna Slessor passed the puck up the ice, each getting another assist to goal scoring Megan Cornick who took an amazing wrist shot that slipped right over top of the goalies glove getting a top shelf goal, making the score 2-1 for the Hawks.
Congratulations to Emily King, Carly Davis and Katrina Trott who were voted Assistant Captains.
Special thanks go out to our Team Manager, Julia King, our Coach Rob Prouty, our 2 Assistant Coaches Craig Trott and Bill Thomas and a very special thank you goes out to McKenzie Poole for being our team goalie – you played a great game!
In tribute to Trish Thomas who passed away on August 11, 2015, the team has chosen to wear her initials on their jerseys.
The girls played a phenomenal game Saturday; I was so proud of them for our first win of the season! And a few words goes out to the other Bantam B girls that are reading this right now - watch out, cause the Hawks are coming!
